Prolific experimental music purveyor Machinefabriek and droning free jazz combo Dead Neanderthals team up for the second DNMF album entitled 'Smelter'. Clocking in at nearly 40 minutes, Smelter is a highly dynamic amalgam of metal, drone and dark ambient and is hard to compare to anything else out there.
Smelter is a co-release between Moving Furniture Recoreds (CD/LP) and Tartarus Records (Cassette).
Edition of 100 cassettes housed in a deluxe diecut cardstock case.

Silence can never exist in a place which resonates with the past. I have thought about altars, cairns of sorts, but why would I try to appease this hall of echoes? They all whisper the same lines, coalesce into the same incandescent story of the what once weres.
Sleeping is never easy here, but I try. I have to. When the eyes and ears and lungs are filled with wonder and dust all day, the mind needs time to weave the patterns of understanding.

This is the definition of a lost classic - and one that will continue to surprise after many listens. Put this on late at night while you sleep - the wall of noise is guaranteed to fuck with your subconscious. I don't fucking know - maybe it's just all the shit in my head. Either way I'm on board for this freefall.

Afrika presents us a hostile half an hour of corrosive bass and static. It's short and to the point, which makes the unsettling atmosphere even more addictive and engaging. It lacks climaxes or crescendos, leaving the listener lost in the harrowing uncertainty, which matches the subject matter perfectly. Mories certainly scored a point with this project. "Recorded during SUNN O)))s European tour 2005, culminating at Roskilde Festival, Denmark" : laissez-moi vous dire qu'il n'y a pas que cette tournée qui arrive à son point culminant mais aussi Sunn O))) d'un point de vue général car Solstitium Fulminate, qui sert d'appendice à Black One, est un monument qui conjugue noirceur vampirique avec une certaine forme d'absolu. Le ton musical plonge très vite dans les graves pour nous faire entrer dans le royaume de la mort. Attila Csihar est un Charon.
